I was originally slated for Jan-Feb delivery, but wanted to see if I could get it before Dec 31st and told my guide I was flexible with my config. I got my 8 steps email on Monday! I started the process, but my Guide suggested I hold until the truck is ~2 days from delivery so that I don't have to pay interest on a loan without a truck.

I am getting a sinking feeling that this truck isn't going to pan out. I realized last night my vin is 136XX. Its an early November VIN, and still showing as in production (it had been in inspection 2 weeks ago, and now back in production) ... that's a pretty strong signal to me that something is wrong with it, and they might not be able to fix whatever it is. I am speaking with my guide again on Monday, but may end up back in that Jan-Feb time frame. I hope. At least that means I would get my OC interior and under body armor!

I have an early 2022 order date for a R1T Adventure Pack. Got contacted Thursday that I was assigned a guide, that I was cool with and didn't think too much of because I have a January/February delivery estimate. But soon after that, I got the e-mail to start my 8 step process and assigned a vin# Very exciting, I didn't think it was going to start this quick. I am actually in the process of trying to get Chevy to repurchase my Bolt due to the recall, but haven't gotten the official repurchase offer yet. Anyway, I am hoping this turns out to be my Christmas gift this year. I got to test drive one about 2 months ago and am super impressed with the R1T. I also have a 2015 Jeep Rubicon JKU that my wife and I drove from Texas to Pagosa Springs in September and I would love to do the trip next year in the R1t.

I was just planning on going to the Rivian event on the 10th in Plano. May not need to go to that now, but I would love to meet some other DFW Rivian enthusiast.

I will keep you posted on delivery date, as of now I am TBD.
What fun. Enjoy.

Han in--I think it is a good sign they caught whatever it is that may be wrong--and you don't know that there is anything, for sure...

Its not that I am worried they won't fix what is wrong, but it sure seems like they are struggling to fix it, and it may end up taking longer to fix it then just waiting for a new production. It sounds like its had to go back multiple times, and my guide has made it pretty clear I need to wait (which doesn't exude a lot of confidence that it will come by EOY).

I remember reading someone’s post that they are shipped to Dallas on a train. I’d expect we are on the right track together.

How do you see that it’s in inspection or production?

I don't, my guide mentioned it. Maybe she used the wrong words, or was mistaken. I am not sure. I am going to ask when I speak again with her on Monday.

In that case you should probably take that info with a grain of salt & not worry too much. Like restaurant kitchens, sometimes we’re better off not knowing all the details, as long as we enjoy the finished product.

I’m in a similar situation, but my guide only tells me it’s in Normal waiting to get on a truck. It’s hard to be patient.

My guide told me the same thing. 4 days later I got an invite for delivery...

I’m hoping that happens to me too. But thus far I’ve only been told that it’s in Normal waiting to get on a truck, since Monday.

Looks like my charger is shipping today. I am so stoked. Once the R1T gets here I will be totally done with gasoline, oil changes, all that mess!

There could be any number of reasons why this truck is still lingering— do you feel Rivian is company that would sell you a lemon? My truck I expect to get next week is a 129xx vin
