I feel like it already uses speed-dependent spacing. In heavy traffic, going slow, the Rivian seems much closer to the car in front and increases distance the faster you go. I have it set to the closest follow distance so maybe that's why.
Agree. <30mph is closer. ~70-75 is selectable. There seems to an unknown area between them where one setting isn’t good for all normal situations.

Using the nav screen without setting a destination (jsut displaying the map) got worse and it’s way too zoomed out now. I tried a soft reset but that’s the new default zoom and you can barely read street names. Basically worthless now for driving around a new area and anticipating what the next street is.

I think it is about time for them to give the Gen 1 vehicles all of the stuff they were advertising would be included back in 2020. 5 years seems long enough.

Perhaps start with this one from 2019.
I'm not that picky. Promises from two years before anyone had to fully commit to purchase, and thus we knew weren't going to happen, don't matter.

The "vertically-dropping tailgate" for example.

Now, things that were still "coming with a software update" when we took possession of the vehicles, on the other hand….

I'm still waiting on "trailer assist", which was listed as a feature until Gen 2 came out, which means everyone who bought a Gen 1 had it listed as a feature.

And of course "hands-free Highway Assist" is hopelessly gone, what with the driver-monitoring cameras being physically not present for later Gen 1.
