I have a Gen2 R1T and live in a rural area that has large areas of no service. I have been using a Starlink Mini as my connection, and laying it on the dash because you cannot transmit through the dynamic glass roof unfortunately.

I plan to move it to a permanent location on a crossbar on the bed closest to the cabin and would like to avoid routing the cable into the bed since this can get wet and dirty. I was hoping I could route it through the plastic plates on the top ridge (where the crossbar attaches) of the bed and into the gear tunnel. I am hoping there is a non destructive way to get it through this area and avoid getting tangled in the tonneau cover.

Does anyone have experience with this? I will likely explore it, but someone who has done it before could help me not break any clips or parts along the way.

I'm not sure what the wet and dirty thing means since the cable and dish are waterproof. I've seen posts from people who put up VHF and/or ham antennas, try searching for things like that.

What I mean by wet and dirty is the other end of the Starlink system which is the plug end. The plug would be plugged into the outlet in the bed which could get banged up when I slide things into there and the unused outlet would be exposed with the door of the cover open. I definitely use this as a truck, so often there are big dirty things in the bed of the truck and can sometimes slide around. I am worried that could compromise the outlets in the bed if I leave this on. If can get the power inside a clean dry area, I would be more comfortable.

Good suggestion on the antennas! I will look into that.

I run my GMRS antenna cable between the roof and rear of my R1S where the main GMRS unit is connected to the 12V outlet - no need to drill any holes or do anything fancy. No problems closing the hatch, and no crimping of the cable. I'm not sure how thick the Starlink cable is, but you'll probably be OK.

Some of their cables are flat or used to be. I bet you can find a replacement flat cable, I've seen them for ethernet and other data cables, probably on their site or amazon.
