Anyone know if the R1 series have headlights that turn as you turn the vehicle to keep the light focused down the road? Really appreciate that on my cars.

Brice,

I know we recently discussed that we both drive Volvo XC60s. Their headlight system is one of my favorite features, and that list is a very long one. It's nice when turning into a corner to have your lights illuminate where you're heading instead of being fixed straight ahead. When I get behind the wheel of one of my other cars or somebody else's, I miss that feature greatly.

On more than one occasion, it revealed a neighborhood pet or local critter wandering out in front of me. Luckily for me and those animals, we all survived the encounters. I'm not sure I'll ever do any off-roading at night, but in tight situations with random sharp objects scattered all around, it's nice to see them before feeling or hearing them.

Exactly! I love me some Thor's hammer headlights. The ID.4 does it as well, and has some crazy low speed side lighting that caught me off guard when I first noticed my porch was illuminated at nearly a 90 degree angle to the car. It's those small things that get you attached.

As that feature has not been trumpeted in any thing I have seen I'd say the answer is "No, they don't have it".

The prospects of Rivian dynamic headlights have brightened. We can let this thread burn out since there is confirmation here. Sorry for the puns.

edit: fixed a typo

same. but it does have "side illumination"

Which was new to me. Not totally sure what that is, the CS rep is looking up the technical info for me. She apparently asked about active bending lights as well recently.

I think that's the fog lamps turning on as turning lights.

I thought I had heard that the lights were turning and leveling which then made alot more sense why they were in the stadium assembly. But at the drive event i was told they dont.

I guess there isn’t even a filament of hope left?

Puns aside, I can live without them provided the low and high beams are done well.

btw, the side illumination is called "wide beam view" apparently.

"I was able to review the information in the manual and it was referred to as the Wide Beam view so that driver of the vehicle can see the road, objects and pedestrians at night. But the current models do not include the bend lighting upon a turn."

How "bright" does that LED bar get on the front?

..or more specifically, as you turn the wheel, does the part of the bar that wraps around the front corner get substantially brighter?
