Rivian software stability is a real issue we don't talk about

Interesting mine weren’t kicking on, then (I forget) either a hard reboot or a software bump triggered them into working automatically again, most of the time..
Oh yes, and having to manually turn the cameras on when I'm parking. Add that to the list.

I see many complaints about the Rivian software. I have owned my new 2025 R1T now for one month. So far, only one issue post upgrade to the last release, my navigation wasn’t showing the estimated SOC for destination. A quick infotainment restart fixed the issue.

Interesting thing is, I see this in all cars. I rent cars frequently and even the high praised car play suffers from screen freezes in Waze navigation. I’ve many times at stop lights turned off an ICE Car to restart the software to get car play to work again.

In general, based on my short experience so far with Rivian, I think they are doing a great job with the software. They appear to listen to feedback and offer improvements in areas where needed. It will be interesting to see how fast their ADAS system progresses. So far, I am a very happy owner.
