I assume AEB didn’t activate based on your memory (human and therefore flawed). Also, AEB activates at 7mph. Not sure what speed you were at. And… “hard acceleration” in an AEB situation can override AEB. Does comma have the ability to accelerate the Rivian?
Yes, the comma can fully drive the vehicle.

AEB/FCW are SUPER obvious when they activate, we both know it didn't, and the Comma also records audio. FCW is loud and would have been obvious. You can hear the bong when I got on the brake and the Comma deactivated. The Comma is able to gently control the vehicle. Rivian has built in limits on how much "force" or change can be applied. So the Comma cannot complete full hard turns or accelerate quickly. It cannot mess with any of the built in safety systems.

I did confirm that the Comma WAS doing both longitudinal and later control up until I hit the brake. So both systems failed to see the coming problem.

Thanks, we love it. This is another unknown in the insurance process and how they will get that replaced. It came from Twraps, so I guess I should ask him as I’m sure he has experienced this.
Check your insurance. Some insurance covers aftermarket accessories in full, some cover them at a lower % or higher deductible, some require that you add that as extra coverage.

Check your insurance.
Since she's at fault, this claim is on her insurance (but same company). They have to make me whole, including a discussion on diminished value. If it were on mine, I think it's limited at $2k for aftermarket. I'm familiar with the problem, as I had a totaled Jeep that had major mods.

Obviously, here's the problem. She couldn't read my shirt.

With Tesla you have to worry about the FSD driving into another car or crashing because it can’t compute. Go look at the detailed data Tesla provided. Much greater accidents than human drivers. Several current lawsuits where the driver was alert and the Tesla crashed on its own.
Are you kidding me? I’d trade Tesla FSD for 99% of human drivers. Hopefully Rivian catches up. I’m a Rivian fan for sure and believe they’ll get there within a few years.

My friend bought a Model Y because of FSD, and because the lease deal was amazing.

We went on a 350 mile "winery tour" using his MY, and it drove us the entire time. I am a very picky driver, and I have to say for the entire weekend of FSD it drove perfectly. Perfectly. Every lane change, every turn, everything was perfect. It was my first experience with FSD, and it was shocking.

People who criticize FSD are criticizing something that no longer exists. The current version of FSD is phenomenal.

I would be curious to see what Rivian says from the data it can pull about why nothing happened. Also great wrap color and I’m with you on the distain of driving an ICE rental.

My passenger is a fairly new Tesla owner, and reports all that also. As do most owners. We've had a lot of discussions about how there's no damn way the Tesla would have allowed this to happen.

Sorry this happened but I love that color. Just figured I would put something positive here.
