Will I be the only Rivian in New England?

They said that if I wanted them to do the RMV work for me that it would delay delivery by 2 weeks.

They told me the same I elected to do it myself. All my documents showed up today with markings where to sign. Just need to bring them to the DMV and pay the reg fee.

The bright side is that tiers 2 and 3 are still a decent rebate. I have no clue how many spots are available in each, though

There's also a MA bill in progress to eliminate sales tax on the first 50k of an EV vehicles purchase price that I've been watching. Hopefully if it passes it will be retroactive for the 2022 year.

Ha. Nice. I just changed back to 21 yesterday. Maybe by end of next week I’ll hear from them, but I’m not getting my hopes up

You have the same build as me (delivery scheduled for next week), so potentially they just did a batch of them and so you were well positioned to slide in. Do you have a VIN already (mine was assigned immediately and the vehicle was already in the quality testing phase)?

For MA, Rivian is charging IL sales tax and you waive MA sales tax at registration time, so would that bill not be applicable for Rivian?

Assigned a Guide (Sara) Friday July 8th!!! Signed PBA right after chatting that afternoon and to our surprise within a couple hours we got a VIN and 8 step. Started the 8 step, but waiting on trade in value. How quickly does delivery happen at this point? We're in Bedford, MA.

R1T- 6/21 preorder, adventure, large pack, limestone, BM interior, 21" road wheels- estimated Nov-Dec 22 delivery

Do you know if an appointment is necessary? I also received my paperwork but was told I had to have an appointment at the registry (earliest appointment was this Friday but I'm taking delivery this Wednesday)

Every time I got timeline responses they had a LOT of slush built in (new plates and non Rivian insurance)
6/13 truck delivered
6/6 guide “truck in Chelsea end of month
6/9 or 10 Temp plates ready

The amazing part is that DMV was fast as EV plates arrived in the mail on 6/15 or 6/16!

Being a month ago and delivery pace has picked up I don’t know if there’s a backlog at every point but that’s how quick things happened 3-4 weeks ago.
Anyone else have a similar/ different experience?

How do you order EV plates? Does Rivian handle this, if I'm ordering new plates? Or do I need to do it on my own with the DMV?

Request that them through Rivian. You get (I got) temp plates and DMV mailed EV’s. At some point in the future Rivian will be connected to DMV like a car dealer and will be able to issue plates before delivering a vehicle.

* if you are doing your own registration at DMV they should have EV plates to give you on the spot, not having done that I can only speculate that every branch would have ev plates on hand.
