Pin-to-Drive feature status?

Any updates on this feature coming or a version of it. It is an excellent protections against car jackers and so on. Would think this would be a simply implementation however not sure if tesla patented this.

Highly doubt they could patent this. I remember several cars' radios back in the 80s and 90s that had a pin to allow the car to start. Certainly more cumbersome back then, but it achieved the same goal.

The original GM EV1 used pin-to-drive, too. It's not even unique to EVs, at this point.
