"No Trailer is Connected" - Wrong Adapter?

I think I have the same adapter but shouldn't make a difference. Make sure it is pushed all the way in. The cap for the socket has a latch on it, make sure it is latched on the adapter. Mine went in very hard and came out harder. I used a little silicone spray and it made it much easier. Trailer mode will work when the lights work.

Make sure your contacts are clean. Also, use some dielectric spray to help clean and lube the contacts.
