I swear a while back there was a thread that covered things to do as a new Rivian (or really just EV) owner but my search capabilities seem to be failing me as I can't find it.

Basically it had things like all the apps to download for charging/mapping (though with ABRP being bought... maybe that's one less?), preparing for a charger install, and other tips and tricks for the first few days of ownership. I suppose at this point we could also link to dash cam storage setups and other things that I don't think were int here, but it would be nice to assemble all of that in one place.

Does anyone remember that? And if not.. can this thread "become" the new guide? Can the veterans post their "10 first things to do" or "things I wish I knew" as a resource to help others as I know for a lot of us this is our first EV.

I take delivery Aug 1st and want to take some time this weekend to prep for as much as possible. Thanks!

Bumping this as I will be taking a smallish road trip the week after I take delivery so any guidance would be welcome!

Some quick tips
-If your first post on this forum is a complaint and story about how you sold you will be mobbed by the troll hunters (I think this makes you safe and more likely to get feedback if you post something leaning negative/ critical of Rivian or your ownership experience)
-Download the apps and make account for the popular chargers in your area/ where you travel
My list that has gotten me through a lot of the West includes:
EA
EVGO
Chargepoint
EV Connect
-PlugShare is useful for live(ish) feedback on charger health, especially when not listed in the Rivian Nav
-ABRP is not fully integrated so it's still worthwhile having that handy
-a tesla to j1772 adapter for hotel charging may be worthwhile depending on your travel habits
-same with rv plug adapters
-test both ac charging and CCS charging before you go on any trips
-If you live anywhere with decent sun, a ceramic tint on the windshield can help with heat transfer
-Long press the left thumb buttons on the steering wheel to scroll between a secondary map, efficiency graph, and Tire pressure page on the driver cluster screen
-there is a way to manually release the charging plug and the frunk (read the manual before you get stuck)
-there is a soft reset (leftmost and rightmost thumb buttons on the wheel held simultaneously) and hard reset (left thumb button and hazard button for ~15 seconds)that may help when troubleshooting a problem, be conservative with the hard reset.
-Aftermarket is being built out still but popular items are roof sunshades, jack pucks, console organizers
-R1T under tonneau z limit is about 17"inches
Some of this may be outdated, but here is a good walkthrough of the Interface:

What other questions do you have?

That's a great start. Thank you. As if now I don't have much else

Fellow 08/01 R1S picker-upper here, also first-time EV pilot. So this thread is timely.

I think my prepatory phone downloading may have gone a bit overboard. Seems silly to have so many apps that should do the same thing but I guess that’s where we are at this phase. And I really don’t want to miss any EV charging apps that are going to save me a headache on the road. (I also bought a Tesla-J1772 adaptor so I can use Tesla L2 destination chargers on roadtrips at hotels etc.) At any rate, here’s what I’ve got so far:
