Will Rivian eventually implement this?

They should just install Google maps in the vehicle like GM, Volvo, Polestar, Ford, etc., without the need for Rivian "spin". Then you can get the weekly updates, new features and Waze reporting. My Hummer has had the Waze reporting for over a year now, it has ALL charging networks in the nav, and it got the EA live status update as soon as that was available on my phone. All this happens without the need for OTA updates, the apps update in the background automatically. And because it treats the vehicle like a device, you can do all your trip planning on the phone in Google maps, it is connected to the battery and efficiency data and correctly predicts the SoC at charging stops. When new chargers come on line, Google has them within two weeks.Google Maps updates its iOS and Android apps regularly, it seems like nearly every week or so. Collaboration on Google Maps is continuing, according to Wassym. The October update include navigation improvements, including "updated zoom behavior, including adjusted the zoom in on maneuvers to show more of the map," and improved traffic and incident updates for trips with multiple stops." I suspect this is from the Rivian-Google collaboration on maps, and that Rivian includes new Google Maps features in its monthly updates after proper testing. For those that long for Waze, when Google acquired Waze, they began to integrate some of the crowd-sourced traffic from Waze into Maps. Rivian Navigation with Google Maps, as described in Rivian's announcement, provides "a navigation experience that specifically supports Rivian’s electric vehicles." I've always loved CarPlay, but frankly, when Rivian adds messaging, it will be complete and easier to navigate than CarPlay.
