I strained to see the line off to the upper right but couldn’t find any distinctive S looking blobs. S00n perhaps…?

Yeah, I am probably wrong. If any were white, yellow, or silver it would be much easier to tell since the truck has body color wrapping onto the outer edges of the roof and the SUV is painted black. I think I see some red in the roof edges in this pic but I think I also see the thin band of chrome from the SUV above the windshield which may just be a reflection.

Then I think there should be a band of red across the top of the windshield like this, right? That definitely is not in the assembly line pic.

Compare that to the SUV which has all black across the top, assuming Rivian”s render is accurate.

You’re right in that the body color strip around the edges is missing. Looks like it is absent on all them. I see some red on the sides but it looks like the wheel well flares to me…

…and I don’t make out the R1S chrome trim atop the windshield. I think I’m seeing what’s under that trim- like the cove where the windshield is seated…

The video quality, lighting, and dark body colors combine to make it difficult to tell. I think if they were all light colors we wouldn’t be having any discussion about it. Maybe Rivian chose this clip to keep us all entertained with speculation and discussion.

They are R1Ts for sure. The tell is the antenna. It would be mounted all the way back on the R1S.

Thanks! That shot makes it an R1T 100% in my mind. I was definitely wrong initially since the red showing on the edges of the rear where the bed is = absolutely R1T.

The post reflects RJ's leadership skills, giving credit where credit is due.
Being a follower of Lean Manufacturing Principles, at this point I'd love to see the factory processes to see how the sequencing and production events are queued.

Here's a novel idea. Instead of speculating and spending time squinting at the video, why not just tweet RJ back and ask him, are those R1T's or R1S's? I'd do it but I don't use Twitter.

They are not making R1S's en masse yet. They have to get through the employee prototypes first. We'll know they are done once we see the news article about the 22 year old that wrapped an R1S around a pole getting off the highway in Irivine. Once the new hires get theirs, then they'll start mass production. Think of it like the Gen Z version of christening the launch.
