This sounds pretty modern...800V architecture and two speed transmission.
Should mean better highway mileage than usual for an EV from the two speed transmission...

Porsche has done the two-speed thing for years. Not much gain it seems.

TIL...it sounded good. Surprised they added extra complexity for insignificant gains...

I believe my Audi eTron has two speed transmission. Efficiency is on par with Rivian but torque from a stop provides much better acceleration. It could be this is where the two speed makes a difference also. Also, the Audi does not use one pedal driving, but 90% of using the brake pedal is done with the motors, not the brakes. I actually like it better that way.

I’ve gotten used to 1 pedal driving to the point where I find myself not wanting to go back. Especially at stop lights when I need to twist around to deal with a kiddo need - but generally find it to be more intuitive/responsive/natural.
