Just received R1S: GW, Ocean Coast, NJ

I've just joined this forum. Thank you to all those who share here as I've learned so much on what to expect from all of you. I preordered in May 2019-original estimate was Nov 2021, but then with the supply chain issues with Ocean Coast interior, got pushed back again and again. Newest estimate was April-May 2023, and I took delivery on March 30, 2023 from Brooklyn, NY.

What to say?! I'll echo what others said about the car (LOVE it) and customer service (not the best). The Ocean Coast interior was worth the wait to me. Have been busy so don't have many pictures, but I've included one in this post.

Congrats - I am waiting on the same configuration in the next few weeks. Out of curiosity - What what you vin? Did you have the new stereo?

I'm waiting for one with the OC/dark wood but in Red Canyon. Relatively late pre-order, so unlike you, I've only been on the list for three years. There's a chance I'll see the R1S late this summer but my guess is that delivery will part the of the Q4 end of year push.

How was delivery at the Brooklyn SC? Experiences there seem to vary quite a bit.

It was Brooklyn, NY...the experience was meh...I am not used to buying a car via email/text messaging lol. It is a very impersonal experience. After a two hour drive to the service center we sat around for another hour just waiting. Four people walked by us before anyone asked if we were being helped...the employees seemed to be busy or on the way out. After insisting we pick up the car by a particular day, the car wasn't ready for us- there was some kind of problem they had to fix that they were doing last minute (a hose that popped out?). I guess it's better that they figured it out while we were there as it prevented a trip back to the service center. Once it was ready, the person who provided us with the keys and walk-through of the vehicle was really friendly and nice. As others have said, Rivian does have room for improvement in the customer service area.

I am not sure- How do I find out if I have the new stereo? The sound system is really great though...I like it better than the one in our BMW.

Based on your pics, you have the new Rivian Elevation system, not the original Meridian Elevation system.
