While doing some EV research, I came across a new European city EV that really peaked my interest. It is Microlino which is produced by a Swiss company in Italy.

The Micolino in a very well done EV replication of a 1950's BMW Isetta. The styling cues are excellent. Having owned a 1958 BMW Isetta 300 for 25 years, this new EV really perked my interest.

The Microlino EV has a top speed of 60mph and is cuter than a puppy. I almost want one "just because". If they ever become available in the United States, I could be in trouble.

I never understood the appeal of the Isetta until I saw it at the BMW museum in Munich a few years ago. It looks like a tiny little death trap but it is definitely cute.

Thanks for the link to the YouTube. It is a very nice mini-review of the Microlino. I particularly like the driver dash that shows flames coming out of the Microlino's butt when in "sport mode". Our Rivians need this feature.

Here a few pictures of my 1958 Isetta. His name was Ichabod, but we called him Ikky for short. He even had his own personalized license tag.

"Although the Microlino Lite is targeting Europe on day one, Micro co-founder and CMO Merlin Ouboter says the Microlino Lite is eligible for registration in the US as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) and hopes to have the first Microlinos there by the end of 2024."

New ones would never meet import standards for crash and other safety. Seen a few older one imported by individuals/companies and they're pretty wild looking.
