Hello, I am thinking of getting exoshield (they are giving 2 year warranty) installed and also IR coating for excessive heat.
1. Is it possible to get both installed. If no, would you prioritize exoshield or IR?
2. Which IR coating would recommend

I had my windshield tinted with a ceramic film.. made a significant subjective difference with heat in our Florida weather.

Then I picked up a large rock chip which turned into a crack and I needed to have the windshield replaced.

Now I am wondering if I a
should have done the exoshield! Warranty didn't cover replacement of the regular tint.

I looked at the exoshield warranty (they now have a product with a three year warranty). But be aware that it only covers defects in the product - delamination, etc. If you get a rock chip or a scratch (or other physical damage to the exoshield or to the glass), it isn't covered.
And, as I read it, if your windshield has enough damage that it would need to be replaced, you'd have to pay to have new exoshield on the new windshield.
I see a couple of cases wherein it would make sense.
1) you have no insurance glass coverage, or you have glass coverage with a high deductible. So maybe it'd save your glass 80% of the time (just spitballing), which could make the cost of the film worth it.
2) your insurance decides it would save them money in the long run, and pays for it (I haven't heard of this happening).

Edit: 3) if you have tint film on your windshield, which insurance won't cover when replacing a windshield, reducing the likelihood of damage becomes worth more, because it save you that additional expense each time.

Better you ask local Exoshield dealers/installers. You're going to need to pick one anyway. Might as well take opportunity to get to know them and get a feel for which you trust more.

IR coating? I've never heard such a thing and don't see any mention of it on the Exoshield site.

IR rejection film is applied to the interior side of the glass. Just like tinting film. Sure you can do both. But if you ever suffer windshield damage, you're out the cost of both ExoShield and IR tint. Exoshield can reduce risk of damage. It does not make your windshield damage-proof. Just so you are aware, if you wear polarized sunglasses or Rx lenses, with Exoshield you will noticed slight rainbow of colors in your peripheral. I don't find it distracting. Hardly notice it now that I'm used to it.

Essence Motorsports in Lake Forest is where I went. They are also XPEL tint and PPF dealer. They've done lots of Rivians.
