It’s time for a RAN charger in Boulder!
Agreed. Though Rivian might be thinking otherwise because there are Tesla, Chargepoint, and EA DCFCs already around that area.

THIS PLEASE! we don’t need EVERY manufacturer to make their own charging network duplicating Tesla and the other charging networks that are already out there. Make new routes available to CCS (and soon to be NACS) vehicles!

if you’ve got a major Interstate with junk (slow or unreliable) CCS/NACS options out there, sure supplement those with new stations. For major cities like Boulder and Denver, it seems like there are a bunch of options already, so money would be better spent elsewhere.

In Colorado, I think Rivian’s money would be much better spent in the mountains well West of I-25. I-25 and the major cities along and near it are well covered by Tesla and other companies.

Agreed! Although I selfishly wish Rivian would add a RAN in northern CO. There are other options around here so I don't blame them if they don't.

Yea, we really could use more DCFCs along the I-70 corridor.

Virginia Dale? Or Livermore, Kinikinik, Walden, ... plus Woods Landing and Encampment (WY)

Walden would make sense. Or Estes Park since it's near RMNP. They have the waypoint charger in Sterling, but there is no RAN between Broomfield and Cheyenne. With the Tesla magic dock station at Bucee's and EA just up the highway in Loveland (closest to me) I doubt they will do that now. First world problems!

Originally they did have something planned up here but the location disappeared from the map over a year ago. ?‍♂

Agreed we don't need more DCFC in the metro area, or the I70 corridor! More in the mountains of the SW of the state please!

Speaking of NoCo chargers, from Steamboat Pilot & Today: Steamboat Lake State Park just got 2 Rivian Waypoint L2 11.5kW chargers. May help in not having to get all the way out of the backcountry in the middle of an extended trip.

I don’t think a RAN charger in Boulder makes any business sense for Rivian. But one somewhere down by Colorado Springs and then one strategically placed south of Pueblo would be great. I-25 south of Denver is pretty bare.

Having said that, I’m honestly not sure if that makes business sense with other high speed chargers already along the southern Colorado I-25 corridor.

Definitely catching on. In our little community in Highlands Ranch - Firelight area, we have two dozen (24) in near a 2 mile radius of our house just driving around looking at XmAS lights. Now 2 of those are ours but pretty common where we are at. When we go to our kids hockey, there are usually 4-6 in the parking lot each and every time.

According to Rivian Colorado Springs Service Center Manager (John), IL is #1 for sales, CA is #2 and CO is #3. CO is #1 per capital. Rivian is putting money into additional service centers. Colorado is legislated for 5 total. The 2 we have (Denver & CS) and they are currently looking for land/shop locations in Littleton, Boulder and Grand Junction and in that order.

See great things for Rivian. Service is far greater a growth inhibitor that needs to be dealt either before R2 is released because once released, the number of Rivians is going to expand exponentially. They are going to need service. New model in a new factory, R2 will have usual manufactured product issues just like everyone else.

Sky’s the limit.
