Help me understand auto relock after 2 mins

Say I don’t want to use my phone as a key, nor use a fob.

If I rely on my keycard only and I open a door, will the S lock the doors after 2 mins?

My assumption of how the auto relock works is if I don’t open a door, or frunk, or lift gate, the S will lock the doors.

I can’t find the details in the owners manual.

Umm, assuming you own a Rivian, you could always test it out yourself.

My key card and phone were locked in my S after opening and closing the door.

SC wasn’t sure about the functionality, so I’m asking here.

Is it possible you swiped away your Rivian App or the App quit for some reason before you exited the vehicle, so the car assumed you had left and it auto locked the doors?

I know mine is set to lock automatically when I walk away and typically does so once I've parked and closed the door. If I'm in a hurry, it seems like the R1S locks once it is about 30-50 feet behind me, but I've seen it happen a few times when I'm just a few feet from the car (pushing a shopping cart into the corral) where it will lock the doors and then unlock once I am standing at the driver's side door again. If bluetooth disconnects or the app is closed, the car will assume you are out of range and automatically lock (if you've turned on proximity locking).

I'd fully test it and not rely on anything we all say here. No phone, no Fob, only keycard, so you better keep it on you at all times.

You're just asking to get locked out of your car.

FWIW I use the FOB exclusively and it's in my pocket always, I never leave it anywhere in the T or anywhere else unless I'm home.

Nope. Rivian app was not running and location services are set to while using app.

I also have my home location set and proximity lock/unlock at home turned off.
