Halloween Mode NOT WORKING?

Same here. Finally got update yesterday G2 Dual R1S No C+. Worked right away/for all of 6 hrs. Woke up this am to nothing. App says spooky mode turning on/off but vehicle doesn't respond to anything.

Owl hoot may be my single favorite software update to date for Rivian. Has never not worked, sounds terrific. Wish I could hear the frog ribbit though. This Halloween update conversely may be my single most hated update. I've spent at least two full hours troubleshooting to get any part of the spooky lights or sounds to work.

At least climate hold is finally here.

Let’s Get Spooky not working here too. Resets or reinstalls do not help. Received the download Sunday. 2026 R1S. Hopefully the bug gets fixed for some of us before Friday.

I agree, the owl hoot is best update and love that sound! I actually got the toad to work but that is about the only part of the update that works. And spooky worked only the one time. Never again.

UPDATE: Hey all… once I got over the “First World Problem” weirdness of calling Rivian support over a Halloween costume, I did reach out to them this morning. They are aware of the widespread issue and are hoping for an update to get pushed out to us possibly as soon as later today. Fingers crossed.

They are aware of the widespread issue and are hoping for an update to get pushed out to us possibly as soon as later today. Fingers crossed.
If that works, there will be a little something extra in your Christmas stocking this year. It's a secret but it rhymes with Bapple Scarplay.

UPDATE: Found a fix for me. It initially broke when I tried to start it remotely after I had left the car for a bit (and poor data connection). I did a soft reset, waited a bit, then got in the car and then started Halloween mode. Worked as expected.

No update for me still. Gen1 early build 22'. I am on the list for a 12V battery replacement (received a support call out of the blue 2 weeks ago to schedule my replacement, still no warning via the app).

I'm starting to wonder if they blocked mine from updating until that is addressed.

Rivian needs a clear, unified way to communicate with customers when issues like this arise, via the mobile app perhaps or a service status page. Even a simple message such as, “We’re aware of [issue] and are actively working on a solution. In the meantime, please follow these steps to temporarily disable or work around the problem,” would go a long way in reducing our frustration.

It has never worked for me

Oddly, it now works fine! And I just switched my phone from connecting to my 5G WiFi to 2.4g WiFi. Also switched from all purpose to snow mode. But not sure why this would matter

I hate that my first ever post in here is about a problem, but I am not seeing anyone else on the internet having a Halloween 2025 issue. I updated my app and ‘24 Gen 1 RIS to the latest software. Halloween mode shows up in the app, but it does nothing once enabled. Last year, I had no issues with the Halloween mode. This year, it’s nothing. The only thing that seems to work is the frog croak when locking, whether or not Halloween is enabled. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the iPhone app, and done a soft reset on the car. Still won’t work. On or off WiFi doesn’t matter. And yes I’ve been completely parked each time.
I have the same issue...
