As the tile suggests family went up to UTK to see kiddo for family weekend, about 400 miles roundtrip plus 100 or so driving around.
Started at 100% for R1T 350 Miles and stopped at Flying J outside Knoxville for covered charging ($30), added 100 miles to give us a cushion while in town.
Saturday night I added another 100 miles (20 minutes) at Walmart EA for $5, $0.20 per minute NOT KW, weird but economical and got to see the Walmart clientele on a Saturday night BONUS.
Sunday on the way back stopped at Volkswagen Chattanooga plant EA for another 100 miles (20 minutes).
POSITIVES
- Easy to leave and have the GPS plan the charging and it worked out perfectly.
- Very nice comfortable ride each way.
- Used Driver + almost exclusively 70-75mph taking a lot of overhead off the drive.
NEGATIVES
- Downside to All Purpose and Auto height is at speed at lowest level LARGE road imperfection are pretty disruptive. Maybe 4-5 in total both ways but big impacts were memorable. Suspension for the rest of the ride was compliant and comfortable on moderate, but kept thinking about going to regular ride height. At regular in-town LARGE imperfections weren't noticeable as increased travel took care of them.
OVERALL
Great roadtrip vehicle, compares very well to LX570 our trade-in with better rider, more power and equal comfort.
Traveling with a few chicken littles (Wife and Daughter) and while they complained about charging and having to stop, we would normally stop in previous vehicle for gas, so no change. They were completely comfortable after first charge at Flying J's.
