Electronics Staying On (Awake) All Day/Night

My wife and I took delivery of both an R1S and R1T about a month ago. Loving them so far. However, we are still learning the ins and outs of the technology. We have noticed a number of occurances now of the vehicles staying awake/on, i.e. radio playing, screens displaying info, etc. all day or all night while the vehicle is parked in the garage or in the parking lot at work.

Has anyone else experienced that? Am I doing something wrong? I thought I am supposed to just walk away from the vehicle and everything shuts off automatically when my phone is no longer in range. (It seems to operate that way MOST of the time.)

Any advice for this Rivian newbie is appreciated!

Ah, I remember when I used to stay up all night having fun like that… By the time they reach their late 30s they will probably start to slow down and realize partying on a Tuesday night is just sad.

Make sure the doors are fully closed. Many have issues fully closing them on the first try. Also, make sure no belts are buckled.

Adding: verify your settings for proximity locking in, well, settings (I should have structured that better). All else fails, give them both a quick display restart (both outer buttons, push and hold until the displays turn off).

Make sure you don’t have the pax seat belt latched

My car did this a few months after I got it. It turned out it was a bad seat sensor in the driver's seat. Service center swapped out the seat bottom and all was fixed.
