This annoyed me as well. Bought some VVidid matte vinyl on Amazon. Made a template, cut the vinyl to fit and it seems to be holding up after a month. Pics below.

Thinking of other things to complain about...that virtually every other vehicle has the same issues
I noticed this immediately upon driving my R1T for the first time and it was a surpise because I've never had this issue on past vehicles. The mirror posts have flat mirror black surfaces. All my other vehicles have posts that are round and/or not smooth. In any case, my brain seems to be tuning out the reflections for the most part now.

Fix: Matte PPF.

Wait until you notice the reflection of the lower dash panel trim on the driver window when looking at that rearview mirror. When the sun is in the right (wrong?) position, that panel trim obstructs the lower part of the mirror.

Don't complain about it to your wife, because she will just roll her eyes....

Fix: Gaffer's (cloth) tape or sticky-back soft velcro.
This.

Very annoying, matte PPF on order.

Hi all,
So after 1449 days, I finally got my R1S, and I'm a happy camper (despite having to do a full reset at the SC before driving away!) But here's my pet peeve, which I'm posting just for the lols, as I don't think I've seen it described before. The driver's mirror mount is too shiny, and any time I get reflections from buildings, trees or the like, I get a momentary feeling that someone's overtaking me. Is anyone else distracted by these reflections, or is it just me? (I think I already know the answer..... :) )
This made my wife jumpy and I noticed it too in the “early” days. Had the truck for a year now and I don’t remember the last time I noticed it. Seems our brains have been trained to ignore it.

I noticed this when I got my truck a little over a year ago. I put mat ppf on both mirror supports and it solved the problem.

I too, initially found the reflection bothersome. Somehow I've gotten over it and I no longer see it. I guess polarized sun glasses help.
