Took delivery of my new 2025 Gen2 Tri on Friday - couldn't be happier (pic attached)! A few imperfections noted but my expectations were set going in so no deal breakers. My apologies if this was posted anywhere previously, but I couldn't find much information regarding defaulting drive modes.
  • Question1: I am curious if/how you can set a drive mode to be the new default meaning every time you start the vehicle, it remains in that mode?
  • Question2: Can you set the default custom settings within a specific drive mode such as softer ride in A/P or lowest setting in A/P so that when selected they default to the new custom setting?
  • Question3: Do "set/default" drive settings get saved per driver profile? Meaning my wife would always default to "X" but mine would default to "Y"
Thanks again for any and all feedback and advice!

For tri motor it should stay in all purpose or conserve. Any others it will reset back to all purpose after 4 hours of being parked due to EPA rules

Yes! There's nothing special you have to do here. Whatever you change within a drive mode, it'll remember the next time you use that drive mode. To reset to factory defaults for that drive mode, hit the circular arrow button on the drive mode

It will save seat, mirrors, nav settings, and music settings per profile. But drive modes are not included in this

If you put it in sport every day, it will eventually give up resetting it and keep it in sport. At least mine is doing that now.

I don't think thats right any more. Several updates ago they changed this behavior in the tri-models where it will always remember the last mode you were in. I leave mine in sport (most of the time) and its always still been in sport when I go to drive it the next day. I'm not sure about snow mode, but I would imagine it would follow the same behavior.

edit: nm, I think you're saying the same thing. Dual motor variants still follow the 4 hour rule.

I wasn't aware they had changed that for tri motor - that's great, actually! I sure wish they could legally do the same for dual motor
