I don't think this is a random bug, my car did the same thing recently (virtually smashed by a semi).

You are mistakenly assuming your Gen 1 uses AI at all.

You are mistakenly assuming your Gen 1 uses AI at all.
They are using AI. Object recognition would be done using neural networks. It is more primitive than an end to end driving system, but it is AI

Sure ML is a subset of the broader AI scope, but there are major differences between AI using LVM (NOT used in Gen 1) and the more classical ML using a neural net.
