- 2023 Rivian R1S
I don't really buy that explanation. Per the standard definition of an open differential, an open diff will provide equal torque to both wheels assuming equal traction, with the limit being set by the wheel with least traction in an unequal traction scenario. If Rivian's open diff were somehow applying more regen torque to a given wheel, I would then expect Rivian's stability control to apply the physical brake as necessary to maintain the intended direction of travel. And weren't you also having problems with tracking straight at constant speed when regen would not even be a factor? Will try out some different variables but the talk track from the SC was that higher regen = more pull because of the lack of a LSD on the front motor.
North DFW, Plano/Frisco/Propser area
Another experiment you might try is braking with regen brake assist both enabled and disabled to see if you notice any difference.
During any of your service visits, was the brake system examined? are you experiencing even brake pad wear over both inner/outer and across left/right sides?
