I finally received my CT license plates 2-1/2 months after my R1T was delivered. They sent me Combination plates, which I’m guessing has to do with CT state law requiring such plates for any truck with a gross weight of over 8500 pounds. However, when I searched for information about the plates (I’ve never owned a truck before and never had such plates), I read that I apparently won’t be able to drive my truck on parkways in NY state?

to confuse things further, a friend in CT who got the same R1T model as mine did not receive combination plates.

Don't sweat the parkway thing, I've had combo plates for a long time and no one blinks an eye

I see Rivians all the time on the parkway and other similar roads.

My combo plate came off my 2002 Silverado 2500HD with the diesel. So it made sense to me.

Enjoy your new truck! I love mine. :)

NY parkway enforcement only if your truck with combination plates is obviously used for commercial purposes. Doesn't apply for private use.
