Were you plugged in overnight or anything to start with a warm battery? I would guess keeping the pack warmer may help quite a bit when in cold weather.
Not overnight. But I DC fast charged the car at 9 PM before heading to the hotel. Given the thermal mass of these battery packs, it probably stayed warm into the early hours. I did check the battery temp the next morning (I don't switch to Conserve mode until the motors and battery heat up) and it was down to the low 30s F.

We have a place in Leadville, and I worked from there mid-week. I drove up from Denver on Tuesday during a storm, and the road from Copper to Leadville was closed, so I stopped at the supercharger at Copper for the first time. It's got the magic dock, worked seamlessly and it was quick charging too. The coffee shops there is right there, and very nice. I'll definitely use this location again - better than the SC in Dillon imo, and the charging seemed much faster than the non SC options in Frisco and that area.

On Wednesday morning it was very cold in Leadville, -10F overnight - a few mins after setting off to drive back to Denver I got a bunch of warning lights - battery, motor issues, etc. It told me to get an immediate service, and capped the speed at 40 mph... That wasn't going to work for I-70, and I was cursing how I'd get the R1 back to the service center. I stopped and did a full reboot, and waited a few minutes. No warnings, so I slowly drove home. I'm guessing it was because of the cold - the motors were all under 32F when I started. I wondered if anyone else had similar issues in very cold temps ?
I have not had this happen yet, but have read several others in the forum talk about warning lights after starting a drive in cold weather. If everything seems fine I probably wouldn’t worry about it.

The only issue I had in the polar vortex, that I've read elsewhere on the forum, is that the capacitive sensor to close the charge port door from the outside stopped working.until I got to slightly warmer weather in Ohio. Either that or it couldn't detect my dead, frostbitten fingertips.

Yeah, I have had that a couple times in either cold or very wet weather. I figured it was my cadaver fingers at the time?‍♂

I actually wondered the same. I do this trip every couple of weeks, and typically have the rivian plugged in to a 110 overnight. Because I'd stopped at Copper and was already at 80+%, I didn't bother this week. I will in future, just in case.

Anybody around the Denver metro have a front mount for the license plate laying around? I know some folks used another option. My wife is leaving on a trip and realized she never got one with her T.

You didn't get one for free in the frunk ? Mine came with one wedged in the netting.

I have one you can have, and a rivet gun, up in Boulder but I won't be home til Wednesday. Or just stop by the service center or put in a request for urgent mobile service.

Colorado gang:
Have any of you driven your R1 (gen1) from Nathrop, over Tincup Pass, and down to Mirror Lake?
I'm looking at this adventure for this summer.
Is this a suitable run for an off-road complete novice?
As an alternative, I'm looking at coming into the Mirror Lake campground from the Crested Butte side, and crossing the Continental Divide at Monarch Pass, not the gravel, single track road at Tincup Pass.
Thanks.

It shouldn‘t be a problem for an R1T with AT tires. i’ve done much more challenging. At the most challenging part, you’ll want to set your air suspension to the 2nd highest setting and go slow.

Can't imagine a place better than Colorado for a Rivian. No power loss from altitude? 4 wheel power for the various conditions? Ground clearance for all the trails? Seating for 7, gear in front, gear in back, skis on top? CHECK, CHECK, CHECK, CHECK. Any other Colorado (Denver) pre-orders here?

Newbie here in Denver (reserved on 10/8), but already can't wait!

Which reminds me, as a lifelong Colorado jeeper (first car: 1931 M38 A1 w/Chev 283) now enjoying serious 4-wheeling with my R1S, I'm wondering if there's any interest in small-group outings. I'd be especially interested in multi-day trips into the San Juan Mountains, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride.

Mustafa did it last summer in his R1S. Here's a video of it (raw footage, but still cool to watch through):

He also recently did Pearl Pass with Colorado Mallcrawlers:

Thanks for the reply, @Sgt Beavis .
I also appreciate you pointing out the trailsoffroad.com website. It looks like a great site.
I just got back from hiking the area around Mt Princeton and Agnes Vaille Falls. It got me motivated to try my first off road, Continental Divide pass adventure this summer. I just don't want to get in over my head.
