Sounds good I'll check those 2 out. Ya, it was enough to make me say I'll never do business with Carvana ever again, it was literally laughable. KBB value is $54-58K for private party based on my car and mileage, but I'm certanily not expecting to get that but c'mon. I am expecting something in the high 40's low 50's and will need to check with Rivian to see what they give me in trade when the time is right.

Givemethevin just gave me $39,246 - $41,253 and waiting on a huge lowball from Driveway as we speak lol...
Driveway gave me a really good offer, as much as a private sale. But, after I went through their whole process of uploading pics, etc they suddenly dropped it by almost $8K. No reason why, no explanation, just "oh by the way, the new offer is ..." They even said it like an afterthought. So if they give you a good starting offer, they might pull the rug out from under your feet at the last second. I definitely consider them a bait & switch company.

Somewhat disappointed in the headlights and radar sensors getting covered within two miles of driving in some snowy weather. Not necessarily a Rivian specific problem but the newer LED headlights don't get hot enough to melt off any snow and then it ices over.

My Tundra had this issue as well, but I wonder if it will become a big enough problem that car manufacturers will provision a heating element or some other way to keep headlights and front sensors functional in adverse weather?

Is there a repel coating of some sort that would help?

I just got an estimate from White Star Electric to install the Xcel approved charger in my garage. Seems pretty much what I expected and I can also claim a 30% tax credit for the entire cost of the project. Debating on going back on forth on owning the charger or paying their $13.29/month rental cost, but can't find anything about whether I eventually own the charger or what. I wish Rivian was listed as an approved car but it's not so that means I HAVE to use one of their 2 recommended chargers. Decisions Decisions.

If the “rental” plan is a rent to own plan and 0% interest I would do that and keep more $ in your pocket for adventures. If it’s just rent till the end of time then buy the charger if you are able to.

No one at Xcel knows if you ever own the charger using the rental plan? (Not that it would surprise me if they didn’t know… typical?‍?)

Here is what I could find in the Terms and Conditions - I think this means I "own" the charger after 10 years?

If that's the case, calculating the monthly rental cost over 10 years compared to buying outright on some quick Xcel math, I would pay almost DOUBLE for the charging install then what I would if I buy it outright. The rental seems like a bad deal to me!

I would agree with your conclusion on that!

I really am grateful for this forum. Had another local Rivian owner stop by today and use his truck to see how it was going to fit in my garage. I’m so grateful, but absolutely going to have to reconfigure some stuff but it fits!! Thanks for all the support!

Colorado Rivian owners are the best Rivian owners. It’s true even though you tried to steal that person’s truck but luring them into your garage.

I tried to keep it but he wouldn’t let me…it’s Blue with Forest Edge which is now really rare since they aren’t making them anymore!

I had business in Denver today (11/8) and dropped in at the service center to see an R1S in person for the first time.
I can report that it's a sad day for Team S. There were 23 vehicles in the staging area, but only one was an R1S. And with the gated area locked, I couldn't get any closer than about 50 feet from it.
There was a second Limestone R1S just pulling out when I arrived with a couple plus a Rivian employee on what I assume was a First Mile Drive.
Not a total loss though. The one R1S in the staging area was in my reserved color scheme: Forest Green with black interior. My first time seeing this color and it confirmed my choice. But darn if that Limestone doesn't look awesome on the R1S, especially in bright sun! It is easily a close second color choice...maybe tied for first. (good thing I have up to 25 months left to finalize my color choice!)
So congrats to whoever got their test drive in today.

You guys still good for Saturday? Rivian wants me to be there with the truck between 730-8am, I’m planning to be there right before 8am. Price is $1125 per wheel/tire.

There is one unclaimed 20” wheel/tire if anyone else is interested in a spare.
