I will be there tomorrow with my expected delivery/Pickup of my R1S. <I'm still in utter shock it's finally happening> I will most certainly ask if and when they anticipate First Mile Drives for the S...my thought is, not anytime soon because there just aren't that many of them. But hopefully 2023 they will bust it wide open.
Congratulations on your R1S pick up tomorrow! I look forward to reading your first impressions.

Later this afternoon my friend....I'm finding it harder and harder to focus on work right now ;-)
You going to bring it to Cars and Coffee tomorrow? If so, see ya there.

What is the cars and coffee? I'd be interested in bringing my R1S once I get it

Cars and Coffee are casual meetups where car lovers can talk shop, then watch someone crash a mustang showing off as they leave.

Yes, this exactly. The Mustang reference is not an exaggeration either. Just put a few hours aside and do a search on Youtube. You’ll be entertained.

Our local Cars and Coffee is at the parking lot of Flatirons Church at 355 W South Boulder Rd in Lafayette. It starts at 7am and here is the Facebook page:

Unfortunately, I will be able to make it to this one....but thanks for letting me know about these. I live 5 mins away - never seen them have one of those. And also, thanks for the warning....I'll be sure to steer clear of that area to avoid any 'mustang' mishaps.

Well...the day finally came. After over <only> 3.5 years, 1,300 days in waiting, I took delivery of an R1S at the Denver SC yesterday evening. Overall experience (8-step email-->actually taking delivery) has been nothing short of amazing....it just took a ton of patience to get there. Many emails of promises and delays, but it finally became a reality. I'm kinda still in shock that it did, but it's real. I hope for the sake of everyone that has been waiting a very long time, and those that are just starting out - Rivian can continue to ramp up production to get vehicles to people s00n-er than later.

I'll do another post w/ my first impressions + pics once a I get a couple drives and experiences under my belt this weekend. But as far as first first impressions go of the R1S, let's just say that my wife and I were not disappointed when we showed up yesterday and saw it just waiting to be driven away.

The drive home was just a tad nerve racking as there was crazy traffic on 25 to 36, and it was all so new, but still, the first drive was everything I had hoped it was going to be and much more.

Cheers to everyone - hope you have a stellar Labor Day weekend!

As we rolled up, I was like...I think that one is finally mine!

Hey Brian, thank you. And yes, I was surprised that I got a wristband as well....as the note I received was that they were coming soon.

I'm around all weekend, so if you're in the Louisville area, let me know!

Btw...just caught your profile note - 'never will buy a land rover again.' I have the same feelings. Not a great experience, and certainly the worst first impression. Rivian so far has been amazing.

So happy for you! Hope the wait was worth it. Now you will be cruising the streets of my hometown in one badass electric SUV.

Congrats Man! Sorry you missed Cars and Coffee. I hope to see you at the next one on the 1st Saturday of October. You shoulda been there, you could have watched me break my tonneau cover.

Anyways, that’s a damn good looking SUV. I’m jealous of the Launch Green color.
