This is all I've ever wanted - It doesn't need to take up the whole main display. A split screen option where you can choose what native Rivian app you want (like drive modes) and then on the other side of it - the AA/CP projection screen would be ideal. The sentiments here about RJ wanting to reinvent the wheel are so true. Rivian's implementation thus far is abysmal - especially on the most important thing of all - navigation. No live closures (that are correct, anyways), terrible traffic data, no police/camera reporting - hell you can't even name favorite locations. These are the things people want when they navigate. But RJ thinks the sole use for any navigation ever is to navigate to a charger (I charge about 99% of the time at home). The Rivian system as is encourages phone use while driving since you have to look at your tiny phone screen for pretty much anything - the primary goal of AA/CP being to remove distractions and make your OS more usable while driving (and not be distracted). I get he wants to monetize it all, but for that reason I don't have any accounts signed in on the truck itself, and I don't use the navigation except that 1% of time I am navigating to a fast charger (and then only to trigger battery conditioning). I think the anti AA/CP fanboys are going to be crying once cellular data isn't free anymore and all these amazing "features" (that are 20 years behind everyone else) don't work without it.Being a Rivian fanboy has nothing to do with AA/CP. Personally, I love AA/CP. When I am choosing a rental car (for example) it's a no-go for me if it's not included. But.... My wife's Mach E has it and it's pretty awful looking on a big screen. Like, comically bad as if it's designed for a 5 year old. It's almost hard to use and since it's so spread out nothing is a quick tap. I'm not denying the functionality as it's basically everything you'd ever want, but it's also pretty cumbersome to go back to the car's native menus to change a setting (eg audio settings, etc). If Rivian does decide to adopt it, I hope it's a 1/3 screen implementation honestly.
