What might I "lose" if I opt for one of the R1 Shop trucks?

I was granted access to the R1 shop on Saturday. I'm still waiting for a max pack but was curious what else I might "lose" if I opt for one of the R1 shop trucks. I asked Rivian and found out the following. 1) All R1 shop vehicles are sold "as is" so options you had on your pre-order are gone with the exception of gear shop items (i.e. cross bars, floor mats, wall charger etc..) and you will not be given the option to purchase those items post delivery of the R1 shop truck at your pre-order pricing (in my case the spare tire and manual tonneau cover) and 2) If for any reason you don't take delivery of the R1 Shop truck you lose your prior reservation.

Hope this helps folks that may be considering switching to an R1 shop truck. It certainly helped me decide to sit tight and continue to wait.

Just to clarify on #2, access to the Shop doesn't require giving up your original reservation. That only happens if you actually start the purchase process for a truck in the Shop and then back out, correct?

Correct. Once you hit the confirm new configuration button on one of the R1 Shop trucks you are "locked in" and can't revert back to your original reservation.

I grabbed an R1T in the Shop about 5-6 weeks ago. It was similar but slight different from my original configuration. Shortly thereafter the truck I chose in the Shop was damaged in transit beyond repair so I had to wait. Basically I was waiting for a configuration like the one I chose in the Shop, not my original config. However, last week I was assigned a new guide and he worked with me to understand what options I was flexible with, and just today I got matched up with pretty much exactly what I originally configured. Long story short, you do lose your original config, but your guide should work with you to get you what you want if the Shop one falls through.

You may want to wait and see what their upcoming max pack announcement is. I'm *guessing* quad max pack will be 800v, in-house motors, and a heat pump. If that were the case, does that make you want to wait still?

Tony mentioned in an interview with the RS guys that there is exciting news coming regarding max pack soon. The changes I mentioned above are an educated guess.
