Auto switching from Sport mode

I was reading on here, and someone said the new dual motor Rivians would switch out of sport mode when the vehicle goes to sleep, or you get out of it, so you have to reselect it. The quads don't do that, and switching out of sport mode is a source of aggravation for me with my wife's BMW. Do you happen to know if the Ascend trims will remain in sport mode and not auto-switch out?

It's hard to say, but I believe they will not kick you out of sport mode on the Ascend. I say that because they have two range estimates on the tri-max trucks: one in large font and one in smaller font for conserve mode. If Rivian had done something similar for the dual performance trucks (low number in big font for sport mode, high number in small font for all purpose mode) we probably wouldn't have the drive mode nanny. Yes I agree with the above. Because there is a specific conserve mode on the new tri and quad AND because the stated range is the non conserve number they will not have to switch out.

in dual trucks there is some requirement for it to switch back to AP which enables the auto rear motor decoupling otherwise vehicle will not get EPA range.

I don’t know all the specifics but this is my understanding…I believe it’s a federal requirement.
