It’s not possible, and not because of anything Tesla or Rivian has control over. It has to do with limitations of a Bluetooth protocol.Did Tesla fix their "group chat" bug? I have a few friends and family members that have Model Y's. Whenever they respond to a group text from their Tesla, it used to only respond directly to the person that sent the last message instead of posting the response to the group thread.
When I go into all messages, from the Rivian, I cannot see any messages/texts UNLESS they were initiated from the Rivian. However, messages coming back as a response, still do not show up. It's like it's half working but I also don't get a notification mainly because it's not seeing anything coming back.
Ditto...exactly the same here.I have the same problem. I started a thread on this a few weeks ago and then gave up. Gen 2 RIS with an iphone 17. I can initiate messages from the Rivian, but incoming messages do not display. I had it in for service and they couldn't figure it out either. I have unpaired the phone and repaired. Multiple software and vehicle resets. Checked all the settings more times than I can count. Everything is configured correctly, but the incoming messages will not display. Very frustrating.

I believe intent was to imply Tesla solved what Rivian hasn’t. Which is factually false. The technical impediment is Bluetooth protocol. As irritating as it can be, it’s expected to see references to Tesla often because the company has been in business longer and sold more cars. For many, it’s their only or primary point of reference for anything EV.Wrong forum for Tesla questions.
