Amazon Music - moving on to?

Hi all,

looking for advice. Since May 2022 I’ve used Alexa and the Amazon Music subscription integrated well. The Whole family loved it. We could ask Alexa to play piano music when the kids were young napping all the way to my heavy metal stuff.

So with the update losing alexa and not wanting to give up rivian assistant at the same time - Spotify vs Apple Music ? Can I ask rivian assistant “hey rivian, play most popular Judas Priest songs” with Spotify or Apple Music? Or is that not how it works? Any opinions are helpful. Looking for that seamless flow of requesting any song on command.

You can ask just for the song and it will default to the last loaded music app, or you can ask for it from a specific music app.

Apple Music works with Voice commands the way you want it to. I am primarily an apple music user, but the family used the Alexa play.... a lot. I was always annoyes it used the amazon side of things. Now, amazon is gone, and those requests go right to apple music. it's great. I expect the same with spotify

+1 for apple music. Cost is basically the same. Alexa on home devices, siri on your iphone, and rivian assistant can all play apple music like you are describing.

According a summary on reddit, of Wassym's AMA today, Amazon Music app is in the works and happening "sooner than you think".

Since Spotify is a native app, it should work with Rivian Assistant.

Meh…why would you do that? You’d get like…Breaking the Law and You’ve Got Another Thing Coming, and miss out on Beyond the Realms of Death or Diamonds and Rust (live), which, I only recently learned is a cover. The original is a folk song…
