It appears to work about as well as I would expect. The interaction in the second video made me laugh.
Rivian Assistant: "Driving from Palo Alto to NYC would take 46 hours not including stops for GAS..."
User: "I don't need to stop for gas, but does that include charging stops"?
Rivian Assistant: "Yes, that includes charging stops. Rivian vehicles have between xxx and xxx range depending on configuration..."
User: "How much range does this vehicle have"?
Rivian Assistant: ..............." I cannot tell you how much RAIN this Rivian has...."

Not related, but I remember reading the Star Trek Movie (2009) book version and the book literally opens with them having trouble with voice commands unable to understand users in 2253. I guess if humans still have difficulties, computers would tooIt appears to work about as well as I would expect. The interaction in the second video made me laugh.

All they said is the next OTA will have expanded map coverage, allowing hands free on non-highways. Supervised point to point, which is what the videos show, is still in development and they did not mention a release timeframe.
After watching the videos, I don't think supervised point to point will be released anytime soon. Can they release it before they start charging for the service in March?
IMO it would be bad to charge for simple hands free, which many, many competitors already have. It is basically just lane centering with adaptive cruise. The difference is lane change on highways, I guess.
On-Ramp to Off-Ramp is planned for 2026, so my guess is supervised point to point is summer at the earliest. More likely late 2026.

I was watching Rivian's demo of voice to text and I'm VERY happy to see this coming. IF IT WORKS as advertised, this is going to be vastly better than Carplay or Siri's sorry ass.
But I'll still call out the lack of CarPlay support. Mostly for laughs
