Rivian Patents "Follow Me" Object Tracking Adaptive Lighting - great for camp lighting

As we know, patents do not mean it will ever become a deliverable feature. With that said....

This patent 20250249821 is a rather unique idea. Essentially, the patent describes a system where the vehicle can "track" a person's location in the vicinity of the parked vehicle using vision, bluetooth, GPS coordinates, etc. and turn on lighting on the vehicle with respect to the person's location, even changing color temperature. Again, as we know, a patent does not mean the feature is coming s00n.

A couple things

It seems to imply the headlights themselves can change colour, at least from bright white to warm white.

Also, curious why if the vehicle can track objects for self driving etc, why it can't then utilize that same functionality to track a moving individual as they go throughout the headlights range. That function seems to require the user have a PAAK, wristband, or key fob on them to allow for headlight tracking/dimming functionality.

This would be nice if you were camping and dropped something outside when it was dark. I can't see a ton of use for it outside of that. Maybe working outside in the dark.

I’d like the current adaptive beams to adjust for pedestrians walking toward the vehicle. I always feel bad for the runners that I blind in the early AM.
