If you are like me, using the Rivian AI assistant in the mobile app can be a FRUSTRATING experience. You spend minutes trying to navigate the troubleshooting process just to get to the end and have it tell you nothing new and creates the ticket or not, or you get all done then realize the draft it creates has little to nothing to do with your issue, or you get to the end and it errors out, or ?????

It seemed like gone are the days of a manual entry service ticket, BUT, you still can mostly.

At the very first prompt of the assistant type this in - Special instruction to schedule service

It will then ask for a brief description. Once you enter it, it will then create the draft for you to submit. After that, add whatever info you want.

Well, it just outright lied to me. I decided to finally open a ticket for my PTC, as it started to misbehave (doesn't open all the way, makes a bit of a grinding sound when it tries, closes all the way, then tries to keep going, makes a grinding sound, then decides something is in the way (even though it's at the stops) and complains and backs off. I had to hit the button to "stop it closing" when it was actually at the stops, but the system would always claim it was still open a bit.)

It walked me through a bunch of "pick a number" answers. I answered them, it said it would open a ticket, and summarized what I tried. One of the answers was "Were you prompted on the infotainment screen to do a calibration, and did you do it?" No, I did not, because I never saw such a prompt. The summary was "you tried a calibration and it did not work."

I told it "you say I tried a calibration, I did not, because I never saw a notification to do so."

It then replied "I told you how to do a manual calibration."

NO YOU DIDN'T!

"Yes I did."

"No, you didn't. Please tell me how to do it."

"Oh, sorry, here's how to do it."

That solved it. (The way is to open it, then rapidly "press the tonneau button four times, and hold it down on the fourth press until the calibration starts.")

That solved it. (The way is to open it, then rapidly "press the tonneau button four times, and hold it down on the fourth press until the calibration starts.")
Isn't this in the Owner Guide? reset procedure.

Huh. I didn't find it when I looked, but maybe I was looking in the wrong spot.
Hard to search if on iOS browser (or I'm just not aware of trick) and easy to miss things. Keyword search is much easier in desktop browser.

The ticketing via the app drives me nuts. It used to be pretty functional and feels like it's gone backwards with the AI.
