My brother and I left Seattle, took Route 5 to Napa, made one stop over night and into Napa the next day. All kinds of chargers on I5. Used Tesla Supercharger, RAN and EVGo. I learned on our second charging stop to trust the software. It was directing me to an EVGo and I went to Tesla charger instead, turns out that Tesla charger was for Teslas only. We ended up going to the EVGo charger. Everything was very smooth, no issues with charging. For the trip back we wanted to take Route 1 from Napa to Jenner then 101 to Olympia and I5 to Seattle. I had read that there was a “dirth” of charging stations on Route 1. I used the trip planning software and never ran into any problems. Never went below 20% charge and charged to 80%. Awesome trip! The views are unbelievable!

Did you use the Rivian app route planner or ABRP? First road trip from WI to Cincinnati coming up this week and I’m wondering what’s more reliable. Awesome pix!

I've done this the other way and have to agree. There are chargers everywhere on this route now. I had way over thought the trip beforehand and found myself surprised just how easy it was. Anytime I needed one there was on on the map. RAN charger in Mt Shasta is nice for the mexican restaurant next to it for a lunch stop too.

Beautiful pictures and looks like a good trip!

I've driven from the South SF Bay Area to Tacoma a couple of times in my R1T going up the 5. I found that once I get to Mt Shasta, the RAN chargers in Roseville and Portland are spaced perfectly for that trip. I haven't done the 101 route yet, but would like to.

We just took a trip around Oregon ... up 101 along the coast to Astoria, across to Hood River, then down through Bend/Klamath Falls, then back down through Mt Shasta and back to Folsom CA... absolutely gorgeous the whole way, but the coastline of Oregon was by far the best (IMO). Highly recommend. We did the entire trip exclusively using RAN chargers (I have free charging for a couple months). I was amazed at how well maintained all the roads are too... maybe it's because nobody seems to drive >65 mph in Oregon :)

LOL. My instant thought was "what? Those are way too far apart!" Then I remembered every road trip I've taken South from Portland has been towing a trailer. :-D The only trailerless trips I've taken in the Rivian have been North from Portland to Seattle or the Olympic peninsula; or East.

I will say that the RAN chargers down central Oregon/Eastern California (US-20/95/395) are perfectly placed for towing! Just need to fill in a few gaps that currently have to be served by EA.
