Yeah No one was hurt, The other insurance would not confirm yet if the vehicle is covered under the insurance. Wagoneer belongs to a dealer and its not very clear if the vehicle is coveredWow. I looked at your first pictures and said to myself "that sucks, but at least it's driveable and doesn't look too bad." Then I scrolled down to see the Wagoneer pictures. The Jeep got the worst of it! Still, probably cheaper to repair the Jeep ... ? Fortunately for you, it doesn't really matter how much the repairs cost. Just be sure to file a diminished value claim with the Jeep's insurer, which should be good for a few thousand more directly to you.
Glad no one was hurt!
I wish this is true, but looking at other posts not sure if its 5kSorry this happened. Just the bumper parts replacement and very minor touchup of the tailgate was around $5K for me. The tailgate/liftgate+lightbar and side panel work will add up unfortunately. Curious what your quotes come in as.
Yes, unfortunately you do have a lot more damage to your lift gate and side panels and the quote may highly depend on the shop. Hopefully the other party insurance is able to cover.I wish this is true, but looking at other posts not sure if its 5k
I’ve thought this too. We can blame our government for this. If there wasn’t a law that said a brake light cannot be on a movable part we could have the entire rear lightbar.I'll probably get flamed for this.... but I think with all of these 'rear end' collisions, maybe the brake light orientation on the Rivian isn't so great. On my R1T, the upper brake lights are fine, but the little ones on the actual rear corners of the car seem far too small.
I realize thee are federal regulations about the minimum brightness and visible distance, but it sure seems like Rivian opted for something too dinky and placed too 'outboard' for maximum visibility.
This. A long time ago when I was new to business and running a construction company I had a customer trying to blame me for something that could in no way be my fault. She attempted to file a claim against me and I wasn’t sure what to do. I talked to my insurance agent who laughed about the claim, then told me this is what I pay them for and his lawyers are much better and more expensive than mine.Maybe it's just me, but I personally ALWAYS call my insurance and let them handle it. They obviously want the other party to pay, and they have the expertise to force the other party to pay. If it was truly the other party's fault then it won't affect your rates at all.
