This can be a good move forward - they do collect a lot of telemetrics, so they can and should predict some issues w/o you even contacting SC to open a ticket for you.

Probably an attempt to reduce customer service call volume. Hopefully it works.
Considering some of the questions that come up across all platforms, 75% are solved with "RTFM"

I sincerely hope this is not another AI chatbot implementation. More AI greenwashing. Urgh.

I’m guessing it’s next to no effort to implement so why not but please focus on the 2025 roadmap. That’s where all the cool things are.

This is my feeling about every LLM feature I've seen so far. None of the utility outweighs the immense plume of emissions every single prompt emits. For a company like Rivian who claims to be climate-first and emphasizing the need for renewable energy, it's just pure hypocrisy to lean into ChatGPT features.

This is my feeling about every LLM feature I've seen so far. None of the utility outweighs the immense plume of emissions every single prompt emits. For a company like Rivian who claims to be climate-first and emphasizing the need for renewable energy, it's just pure hypocrisy to lean into ChatGPT features.
Not really the problem it used to be. Low power NPUs can handle 13B LLMs at 30 tokens per second pretty easily, with minimal power. Training and evaluation of the models is a different story, but individual queries aren't really that impactful with modern TPUs and NPUs.

That's great, I'm glad we're only using 11 gWh a day to make hot Elon images with 6 fingers on each hand and Vaseline haze filter effect instead of the 12 gWh we used to use in May, 2024

I’ll reserve judgement until it’s released but if the implementation is a roadblock to reaching a human that might be helpful in reducing the workload on customer engagement team but may degrade the customer experience. Will be interesting to see how Rivian goes about this.
