Guess I just missed it taking delivery 2 weeks ago of a new Gen 2 R1S...oh well.

I really have no plans to charge other than at home anyways. I'm still waiting for my email to opt in for the adapter which I was told I should get a week after delivery but still has not come yet.

Rivian now includes a free NACS to CCS1 charging adapter with every R1S and R1T delivery, according to the California-based startup’s website. The change is reflected in the order summary for both custom builds and inventory vehicles.

Is that included at delivery of vehicle or included with purchase of vehicle; adapter delivered when available? Given that Rivian was selling R1Ts with power tonneau covers on the window sticker where the PTC was to be installed later, I think this is just formalizing the current policy of getting an NACS adapter as soon as an adapter is available at no additional cost. They’ll eventually be able to include them at delivery if Tesla’s production continues (or better yet, increases) but I think we need more specific wording from Rivian to be 100% sure this means what you think.
edit: clarification

I just reached out to customer service and was advised being that I am a "new delivery" that I will not be bunched in based on VIN numbers for adapter and that I should expect to receive mine within 30 days of delivery date, which would be early October....we'll see if that happens and will post on here if so!

To save cost and complexity for Rivian, I hope this is sitting in the vehicle at the time of pickup. If not then I agree they should be sent in order of purchase.

? Took delivery today and didn’t get one - looks like I just missed it. I got the A2Z one already so not the end of the world.

I agree they should prioritize the prior owners to get them

Taking delivery of a '25 R1S on Saturday so I may get it, may not—I'm not worried since I have the Ford NACS adapter I can use in a pinch. I think during my demo drive they mentioned getting it within a month of taking delivery. Will keep folks here posted.

I think it would be better for sales if the adapter is in every new Rivian sold from now on. I say that as a shareholder of RIVN and as an owner who hasn't gotten an adapter yet.

I think my getting an adapter 2 months earlier (as an expectation) isn't as big a deal as someone taking a delivery of a new Rivian and being able to immediately go on a road trip where they can use a Supercharger. I think having an adapter from delivery will make a HUGE difference for people going from a Tesla to a Rivian.

When are they going to install NACS ports in their vehicles? That's what I'm wondering. I think there are some people waiting for that to happen before they'll purchase a Rivian.

BTW, wouldn't it be great if they kept the CCS port where it is currently and just added a NACS port on the opposite side? That would work well for Tesla Superchargers and drivers would still have the ability to charge anywhere without an adapter.

I took delivery of a 24' R1T last Thursday and they told me to opt into the NACS adapter program via email. I picked up an A2Z adaptor for my first supercharge session at a V4 stall and it worked without any issues. But would definitely have liked to get the Rivian NACS adaptor upon delivery.

Delivery tomorrow, and guide confirmed they won't be giving out NACS adapter at delivery. We'll have to wait in line like everyone else. I'm not sure if that article is accurate, i.e. "included" may not equal "at delivery".
