So I’m having the same problem again. The third row fan hack works OK, but it’s just bizarre to me that the A/C is borked again after sitting in our garage while we we on vacation for 9 days. The only thing that changed was the latest software update 2025.18. Tried a hard reset, still no A/C. I...
My driver's side works at about 20% when set to 3 cooling bars. Passenger seat is ice cold, so could be blockage. I don't want to take it in for something this small since our SC is a ways away, so I'll see if there's anything blocking airflow under the seat. Tried hard reset to no avail. It's...
Yowza. That’s far.
I was able to get A/C working by turning on the third row fan—not sure why this works, but it does. A/C doesn’t kick in at all if it’s just the first and/or second rows, so something is not right. This tip won’t help R1T drivers but may help if your R1S v2 has a/c on the fritz.
I don’t have a dune but have a Gen2 R1S that has already been in the shop for this issue. Heat gave out during a snowy time here. 3 weeks later, it’s in the 80s and a/c gave out. I really love this vehicle but hate the QC issues. I guess I need to make 3 or 4 attempts before filing a lemon law...
I didn't mind the noise, but last week it was super loud (think jet engine) and then a smell of burnt plastic filled the cabin. Didn't get any heat after that. Tried soft and hard resets, no luck. Now in service. A bunch of R1S Gen 2s have had this issue according to r/Rivian. At least the...
Seems like a lot of gen2 folks are seeing this issue on Reddit. It happened to me earlier today when I turned on defrost and temp got set to HI automatically. After a minute or two there was a burning smell, then the thermal system fault.
I’ve tried hard reset, sleep cycle, and now have a...
Yikes! Thankfully the update failed and my wife was able to use the car earlier today. Let me know how it goes for you after the resets. I’ll probably try that method as well.
I was having the proximity sensor issues so I started installing this around 8:30 this AM. It's 9:35 and the update is stuck at 7%. My wife needs the car in 20 mins and I might be in the doghouse if she can't use it. I'm guessing it's really bad to try to abort an update?
Yikes. Sounds like Rivian is taking the right steps to address these issues, but this is pretty worrisome. Article claims that Rivian, with just 1 factory, has more "serious" workplace safety violations than any automaker since the start of 2023. At least there aren't any documented repeat...
This is honestly the one thing I miss coming from a Mach-E. Especially in Unbridle mode, the response is instant and super easy to get up to speed. I'm getting used to the response of the Rivian and can deal with it, just wish I didn't have to press as firmly. I have dual standard so that may be...
Took delivery of standard dual motor '25 R1S last Saturday, upgrades were forest green and dark ash wood interior. No issues aside from maybe a very slight panel thing on the roof, otherwise went through the delivery checklist swiftly. 2 year lease while I wait for R2S, main use will be 2nd car...
Took delivery last Saturday and it is indeed great! More than I need, which is a first for me. I was comfy enough in the Mach-E for shorter drives, but didn't exactly enjoy 8-hour days driving it cross country. Shouldn't be a problem in the R1S.
I took delivery today of an inventory R1S and didn’t get an adapter. The guides said I’d get an email soon to confirm shipping address etc. and it should only be a few weeks from now. I have the Ford NACS adapter so no big deal on my end, I can be patient.
Taking delivery of a '25 R1S on Saturday so I may get it, may not—I'm not worried since I have the Ford NACS adapter I can use in a pinch. I think during my demo drive they mentioned getting it within a month of taking delivery. Will keep folks here posted.
