We here at Thunderbolt Adventure Supply are excited to let you know that we are very close to listing our bed slider for the R1T in our webstore.

We wanted a solution to getting items out of the bed of our R1T when when our Roofnest is on top. Or sometimes, we want to be able to leave the tonneau closed but still get items from deep in the bed. We also needed to make sure that we could access the spare tire well without having to remove the slider from the truck bed. We wanted it to slide easily while supporting a fully loaded ice chest, but stay put when needed.

After lots of prototypes, we're about to pickup the final version from our laser cutter. Once we have that, we'll be able to finalize pricing and get it listed for sale. But, we thought we'd give you all a sneak peak. The final version has even more features and will come in a texturized black powder coated finish.

We can't wait to start delivering these!

I was about to buy one of these for my TRX before I got my R1T, but my biggest concern here would be the loss of height from the slider. Some of my gear barely clears the tonneau cover as is. Awesome product regardless and I'll definitely be interested to see the specs when they drop.

I like it, but it is also fun to send my kid spelunking for things that slide toward the front :)
Yes, but my kid is now 6'2" and doesn't fit under the tonneau very well...

Yes! The low profile was key for us too since our Yeti 65 barely fit under the tonneau even without the sliders. This product is designed to maximize the vertical space while providing the slide functionality.

How hard and time consuming is it to remove these?

I'm thinking of a scenario where I'm off-roading and get a flat (or even highway driving and get a flat, now that I think of it) and need to get into that spare tire well...

This product is designed with that scenario in mind. It is hinged so that you can open the hatch to access the spare. Of course, depending on what you have on top of the slider, you may need to remove items from your truck bed, but you will not have to uninstall the slider itself.

I had just ordered another fridge slide but I will now cancel that so I can wait for this to be available. Looks great! Does it have a slide mechanism or is it just sliding on the bed itself? Looks like it has notches that fit into the grooves in the bed. Also, how tall will the final product be from the slide top to the bed? I'm mainly looking for a slide solution for my Dometic CFX3 35 and have limited space. Any ballpark on pricing and rough estimates on availability?

Same question for me. Will this fit a Dometic CFX3 35 which is 16.2"H and still be able to close the PTC. IIRC, it's 17" from the bed to the underside of the PTC.

We also have the CFX3 35, and it fits perfectly. The final clearances is a bit more than 16.5 inches. It rides on wheels and utilizes the grooves. Here you can see both the Yeti 65 and the Dometic fit.

Yes - we had this exact setup and the PTC closes over both the CFX3 35 and the Yeti 65.

Great! This will be a game changer and save my back from having to crawl into the bed to retrieve my camping gear.
