I created some Rivian Cup Holders earlier this year and recently was asked about creating a version of the cup holders without the bottoms, specifically for a giant 64oz water bottle with a silicon sleeve, measuring 133mm in diameter. When attached to the front storage area, this would let large water bottles just sit on the floor, but still be stable. Honestly, I'd been thinking about the same thing already, but for inside the storage area. I posted about this experiment on Reddit about a week ago, but after a few iterations I've come to finalize my models. I call these Cup Clamps, for lack of a better name.

The net result of all this is that I have a couple of new "double-sided" storage clips and a new bracket that spans the entire width of the storage area. This new bracket has two clips to attach cup holders or the new cup clamps. In testing with larger water bottles trying to be inserted in the back, we found it was hard to get them in and out because there's not a lot of vertical clearance before they hit the the dash. They were also a long ways back and sometimes hard to reach. I ended up making an angle adapter (35 degrees off vertical) that brings things forward a bit more. I started with 45 degrees but then the water bottles wanted to fall over. 35 degrees seemed to be a good compromise.

If you don't want to use the bracket, you can just use the new double-sided clips and attach directly to them. There's also a new "front-double-pin" model that you can use to help secure the clip when used without the bracket (they're not in the photo below, but would have helped). Since you remove the clip by rotating it toward the inside, this helps prevent that. It's not perfect, as everything flexes, but it does help.

Anyway, just thought I'd share the new models in case anyone was looking for another solution to their drink storage up front. Here are a couple photos of the different configurations possible now and a quick video I made that shows it in use and how it connects.

See the Printables page for all the models. Let me know if you find this interesting or if you have other ideas... Thanks!

In this photo I used the 35 degree angle on the bracket, a "regular" sized cup clamp that's holding the blue Stanley, and a "XLarge" size cup clamp for my giant 64oz monoprice water bottle.

Here's an alternate configuration without the bracket... it show both a "regular" cup holder being mounted on the inside as well as the "regular" cup clamp holding the red drink. I've also got the normal "Large" cup holder for the ThermoFlask.

Very cool. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the great work! Would these work to hold bottles vertically toward the rear of that space right in front of the camp speaker? I find that to be an easy to reach spot and am never using the camp speaker anyway

I don't need cup holders, but the crossbar looks super useful. It looks like I could print that alone?

Very neat design. Are the cupholders available for sale?
@RWerksman sells several of the cup holder models at https://opensourceev.com/products/nextgen-aux-cupholder

Its up to him if he decides to add any of these new models. I know he does a fair amount of testing himself before releasing anything.

Yes, you could attach a cup holder or cup clamp directly to the sides, but near the camp speaker, similar to the second photo. The bracket only works in the position shown because of the trapezoidal shape of the storage area and the specific length I made the bracket.

Yep. I published a .3mf that includes the settings I used to print it, along with the logos. Those can be removed or modified in the slicer. You could also remove the clips on the back if you don't think you'd use those and instead just want a clean bracket. Note that due to the shape of the storage area, it really just fits in one spot where the width matches. In the current position, it's far enough away that the camp speaker has no issues being removed.

Edit: You'll also need the two "double-sided" clips on the sides for the bracket to attach to...
