A2Z adapter trick / tip to lock onto Tesla charger cable (from A2Z support)

Couldn’t get my adapter to lock onto a Tesla charger, so I emailed @A2ZEV. One of their support people called me the next day, and gave me his cell to FaceTime the next time I was able to try. Showed me a trick, and works great now. Very impressed with their service.

Here's the trick:

He said to sort of “prime” it. Start with the adapter just inserted half an inch, then insert fully in one motion, not pushing too hard. If it doesn’t click into
place, repeat until it does. Heard it click about the 4th or 5th try, which then allowed me to lock it. Guy said it should work fine from now on.

Trick: Make sure plug is fully seated. Look at plug and observe wear line.

Just ran into this today on my first supercharging experience. What you described is about what I did to make it seat properly. You'll definitely feel a click when it's in the right position. Happy charging!

Lol yea "insert it 4-5 times" like every Tesla driver does at the station? Uh huh trick.... I'll agree I do that "trick" too. ?

I put a green Scotchbrite pad in with my A2Z adapter to gently "smooth out" the Tesla connector, along with a can of dry lubricant to, uh, facilitate the insertion.

I find that priming before any insertion always helps facilitating full insertion…

The trick IMO is to understand how the nacs slide lock works
