R3X / R3 / R2 visit Normal, San Jose, Atlanta and Seattle

The R2, R3 and R3X have been making their rounds across the nation. Here are some recent photos from showings in Normal, San Jose and Atlanta. They were also in Seattle this past weekend (May 4-6).

Visited yesterday in Seattle. Quick thoughts when seeing in person were the R2 wasnt as tall as I expected, the R3X was generally bigger than expected. Both felt very "right-sized" for their class. The Treehouse impressed!

That seems to be the consensus: R2 smaller than expected, especially when next to the R1S and R3 bigger than expected. The hatchback proportions seem to be warping people’s perception, kind of like the Ionic 5.

The question I’m interested in is how much will the R3 and R3X cost? If the R2 starts at $45K, maybe $35K for the base model RWD R3? The R3X isn't going to be cheap with custom paint, upholstery, suspension, dual or tri motor, etc. I bet it will overlap with the R2 in price.

We already have the R1T and love it. We have a pre-order for the R2S and that will be my wife primary vehicle. We are empty nesters so we don't need the "urban" boat to haul kids and equipment around. Can't wait to what the final product will look like.

They're just putting that rooftop tent on all the models! I really want to see it on the R1T though.

These can’t come to market soon enough. Let’s hope Rivian can survive until production starts.

I just checked the Rivian website to look at R1T inventory in my zip code. TONS of units to choose from. I was surprised at the large amount of 2023’s listed for sale.
