Tonight’s massive rain/wind storm knocked out the power and has been swamping our sump.

Thanks to the 120 plug in the back of the R1S and some loooong extension cords, I’m keeping the sump pumps running (for now ??).

Update: the truck ran both plumps all night and used only 8% of the battery. My Rivian basically just paid for itself by keeping my finished basement from flooding ?

Great solution and it's a good thing you were home. Make sure your Rivian outlet isn't going to to turn off in the middle of the night. Also - remember that there's another 120V plug below the screen on the center console in the 2nd row passenger seats. You could run the cord out the window rather than leaving your rear hatch up.

A friend of mine finally had to install a water-powered sump pump as a backup because he had so many power outages - perhaps that's an option for you if you have city water.

Is there anything about the Rivian inverter that will limit the continuous running time of 120V power from the outlets? Will is run as long as there is juice in the HV battery?

Manual says 1500 watts so 1500w/120v=12.5 Amps.
Thanks, I will be sure not to use two larger items at once and pop a breaker or fuse. I do not want to push my luck, I have run an air compressor with a 9 amp load maybe a 11 amp surge on start. No problems. It is wise to recognize the surge wattage as well realize the circuit is likely inclusive of all the outlets.

I might be in the minority here but I think Rivian missed the boat here a bit with their Amp capacity for the rear plug. 15Amps will run most things but also doesn't give a user that much leeway. I have an air fryer that will pull more when heating up...How does one go about resetting a breaker in these trucks if the breaker gets tripped?

My thoughts also, 20 is a contractors size and the truck is sold as a work truck. I hope the overload is an easy reset.

Here’s a link to a fuse diagram for the R1T/S: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/interior-passenger-side-fuse-box.8397/post-241602

And cool stuff! Our power company has been replacing old power poles and has taken down our street’s power twice. It’s awesome to have a massive power bank in the driveway to keep the essentials running. ??
