We were on the list for 2 1/2 years.
As of late April - delivery window showed Aug-Sep in the config window.
Got an email May 2nd out of nowhere saying "it's here, come and get it"

Took delivery at the San Francisco service center. Couldn't have been easier.
Candidly, I was a bit anxious before pick up after reading some of the reddit forums, but then and now - a month in - zero issues.

3 days after we got it we took a trip up to Yosemite to see the waterfalls which are raging right now.

Here's a photo of us charing at the Rivian bank at the Yosemite Lodge - that's Yosemite falls in the background.

So glad we waited till all the production issues were smoothed, out, haven't had this much fun with a new car in a long time.

Congrats! I just took delivery of a El Cap R1S on Saturday and can convey a similar experience but not entirely issue free.

I was worried there would be panel gaps everywhere, rattling, battery dying on the 2nd day or exploding at charging from all the threads. Thankfully none of those issues.

My only issue so far is a weird discoloration and small chip on the black bar on the roof of the driver side. It is not terribly noticeable, but I did submit a ticket to support.

There is also a slight difference in gaps between the tail lights on the right and left side but I don't think it's worth mentioning as it is barely noticeable unless you are looking for problems.

Took a approximately 1000mi drive from IL to NC mostly using Rivian mapping with the exception of one time it tried to route me to a EA station that was down. I also noticed Rivian's maps seem to not have some charging stations like the Circle K station I was able to find on plugshare that worked well.

Hopefully the rumored ABRP integration is actually true and we get better native mapping in the Rivian UI. I currently have a new Mercedes as a rental while my Rivian is in for the minor service issues. It also suffers from having out of date native mapping. Fortunately, it has Android auto, which allows for Waze.

Congrats on the new vehicle. I am also 1 month in but ordered in July 2019. Mostly loving the experience so far. Delivery was easy except for the 60 miles distance - I'm in NH and the service center is an hour away (without traffic) just outside of Boston. I have several misaligned panels which are noticeable and disappointing. Appointment made but a month out at this point.

Things I've noticed:
- ACC still needs work. Recovery time back to full speed when switching lanes is too slow. And the system can break aggressively for phantom reasons. I also find that when approaching a vehicle that is slowing to make a turn, the system breaks heavily even when you move to go around said vehicle. The lack of "resume" function is a pain as well.
- The quality of the ride in "Conserve" mode is quite bad. Bouncy and jittery makes the longer rides when I use it rather uncomfortable. Seems to be eliminated by "all-purpose" mode which is not ideal for optimal battery life for longer trips.
- lack of Car Play is disappointing. I also find I have "rattle" in some of the speakers with some tunes. I shouldn't have to adjust the equalizer to address that. Not sure if it is the quality of the speakers or something else.

Overall, a great vehicle for my needs and usage model. A step up for the most part from my previous BMW x5.

We were in Yosemite last week. I might have talked with you. I met a few Rivian owners.

The Valley was crazy crowded and crazy wet. I can’t believe the waterfalls in June. Truly awesome.

This was Bridal Veil.

Don’t get me wrong, the driveway pic is very nice, but HOLY CRAP the one in Yosemite is stunning!

Rivian could even use it as a promo shot with the Rivian logo shown prominently on the Rivian charger. Thank you very much for sharing.

Per my testing and i've only had mine for 4days, bouncy solution is Snow mode, Auto height.

Speaker rattle for me is there in front dashboard middle speaker housing, rear 3rd row right side(can hear this inside and outside), rear left door panel, driver side tweeter distortion when 3D enhancement is on.

I also have some panel and trim misalignment.

Today I went to get my front 2 windows tinted. Tint guys pointed out passenger glass interior has a bubble. So I didn't get tint done.

Service ticket opened for all of these items and few more

Ha! Looks like we're twins too except you have the underbody shield. I haven't seen an R1S here at all and only one R1T so far. I'm a bit north of Charlotte though in the Concord / Huntersville area.

It's ALL good, the waterfalls are stunning right now. If you get the chance do Vernal Falls hike, you can go the bottom of the bridge - a short hike from the valley floor - your proximity to the water is awe inspiring. A little further up the top of the Vernal Falls on the Mist Trail you will get drenched with the spray, an unforgettable mini adventure -- Enjoy!
