  1. Unacceptable Heater Performance

I also have had no problems in the extreme cold weather. In fact, my wife and I both enjoy just how quickly the Rivian heats up and how warm the Rivian can be. The new schedule feature, let’s the car determine how much time it needs to get up to temperature.
  2. Is servicing going to be the downfall to Rivian?

First, sorry to hear about your issues. I wanted to post this for all of the prospective buyers out there reading the forums. I have had my R1T 8 months, 8,500 miles on it and had no problems, other then a small dent on a door that was there on delivery. I had the windshield replaced (Rock...
  3. Can smell the windshield washer fluid in the cab every time I use the wipers.. anyone else?

Yes, in my R1T my Wife says that every time I use it. The truck is awesome - I can live with that!
  4. Challenging PR for R1T (rear window replacement cost)

Just had my windshield replaced in Colorado Springs, $1,700 for everything. I think this has more to do with the repair shop knowing the guy was "CEO of CloudFare" - and then taking him to the cleaners!
  5. Colorado Springs Service Center

Correct. I just filed a service ticket on the Rivian App, and it defaulted to letting me schedule a Colorado Springs appointment.
  6. Should I cancel $1800 manual tonneau cover order?

Would you have a link or tell me how to find the $800 form built version you mentioned?
  7. Tesla Model X Owner’s First Drive of an R1S: Disappointing Experience

I rented a Model X and drove 3,800 miles across the country before taking delivery of my Rivian R1T - just to confirm I wanted to go the full EV experience. The Tesla seems very "plasticky" to me and I had multiple problems with it (AC going out with 10 hours left to go in 95 degree temps), and...
  8. I’m Selling My Rivian R1T - In-Depth Owner Review After 24k Miles In 9 Months

Actually, it was 11 min 30 seconds into the video. Spoiler alert: Claim it was to improve his debt ratio and save money, specifically to buy a house in the near future.
  9. So you think your Rivian is a problem…?

Totally agree. Our worst vehicle ever, a Jeep Grand Cherokee: New front AND rear axles, water pump (2x), new radiator, new master break cylinders, multiple computer failures, drivers window had to be replaced, etc. problem after problem. I am LOVING my R1T. Best vehicle I have ever owned...
  10. How on earth… R1S rear camera has a sprayer???

Something tells me his tailgate is sore from over-use.
  11. 2023.10.0 software update OTA released. Includes Tesla Supercharger network option and 12v battery draining issue fix

Yea, makes me think that there are other "rare issues" with the 12 volt battery system which remain undiscovered. Time will tell if they have nipped this serious issue in the bud.
  12. Nervous about Rivian purchase as date draws nearer

I hear what you are saying, but it's not a "cream puff" either (see "Fully Loaded! Can an EV Pickup (Rivian R1T) Survive a Hard Days Work?": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XuvwkIxrXw
  13. Nervous about Rivian purchase as date draws nearer

UPDATE: It must be karma - just moments ago, I heard back from my Rivian Guide that they have a VIN number for me! Literally - just hours after my original post. Thanks for all of your comments and feedback. - I am going to take delivery.
  14. Nervous about Rivian purchase as date draws nearer

I have no doubt that the Cybertruck will be mass produced. It may cost $110K each an still have the giant ugly wiper - but it will be produced.
  15. Nervous about Rivian purchase as date draws nearer

Agreed. I do think that many of those 2 million reservations will vanish once the price increase are announced and people have to actually come up with the cash. I want an Adventure vehicle - not at all interested in the slightest in a traditional truck from Ford or anyone else - and that goes...
  16. Nervous about Rivian purchase as date draws nearer

I get that. I have watched about every R1T review on YouTube and also completed my first mile drive - and the performance and quality are amazing. My concern is that IF the company goes under, order drop due the Cybertruck popularity (perhaps accelerating the collapse of Rivian), if getting...
  17. Nervous about Rivian purchase as date draws nearer

Totally agree with your point about self-drive. I rented a Model Y for a 3,600 cross country trip (to ensure I knew what I was in for - regarding EV ownership) and the self-drive scared the crap out of me with the phantom breaking - very dangerous! That and I hate that it has no screen...
