RAN Rivian Charging Stations Locations Map via Google Maps

I'm watching for the same exact thing. The EA in West Lebanon is a disaster and the RAN there will be a lifesaver if it's open in time.

Trip Report: 1900+ mile trip towing our Airstream Basecamp 20x with R1T

Thanks! We're really excited for it! I'm expecting the efficiency to be a bit worse than what you're seeing but I don't think that's a deal breaker for most of the trips that we plan on doing. A bucket list trip in the future is to pull it out from New England to the national parks out west and...

Trip Report: 1900+ mile trip towing our Airstream Basecamp 20x with R1T

Thanks for such a nice detailed report! Your post pushed me over the edge and we pulled the trigger on an Opus OP15 last night to pick up on Friday! Iā€™ve been hesitant to get a trailer because of range impact and charging but your post gave me confidence that I can make it work and the...

What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Nav waypoints and the ability to specify if itā€™s a drive through/past waypoint or a stop waypoint. Drive through would be used to force routing near a certain point of interest or more frequently to avoid a metro area-like NYC- that the nav wants to route through to avoid the traffic and...

Electrek: A Call For Smaller EVs

Dude, 100%! Iā€™ve never owned a truck before and after about a year with the R1T Iā€™ve come to two conclusions. 1- I donā€™t know how I ever lived without a truck and 2- it could stand to be a bit bigger, especially the bed (except when Iā€™m trying to fit into a parking garage in the city) If the...

Roofnest Condor XL on an R1T Roof?

We have a Condor XL because the kids are too big to fit with us in a smaller tent but not big enough to be out in their own tent. It's not perfect and I'd prefer a more flush fit, but the floor of the tent is rigid enough that it hasn't been a problem to have the crossbars off center.

“75% of R1T and R1S customers are new to EVs…” says Rivian

First truck, first EV, first brand new vehicle. I always wanted a truck and was really past the point of needing one between trips to Home Depot, hauling dirt bikes to trails and going camping or to the mountains but I never liked the lack of weatherproof storage in a pickup not to mention how...

Gear Tunnel Shuttle and Camp Kitchen disappear from Gear Shop

This looks like a really well thought out alternative, projected to ship late summer. https://rivian-aftermarket.proboards.com/thread/22/slide-camp-kitchen-project-info And their gear guard shuttle looks better designed than Rivianā€™s in house design ever was. Supposed to be ready late May...

    Intech Flyer Explore tow experience?

Does anyone have experience with towing an Intech Flyer Explore with an R1T? Looking for efficiency numbers and potential range on 20ā€ AT or 21ā€ Road wheels, thanks. https://intech.com/rv/models/flyer/explore/

R1T Bed Rack: Sierra Rack System

Thanks for the detailed look, I think this is a solid solution and the 5 minutes that itā€™ll take to run the bolts in and out is simple enough. I really like this rack as a way to reclaim bed access with a tent mounted, Iā€™ll probably place an order this spring.

Is the R1T “engaging” to drive?

Youā€™ll have to pry my 997.1 S from my cold dead hands, itā€™s almost unfair to compare anything to it in terms of driving dynamics- and Iā€™m sorry but an electric motor will never match the glorious sound of a performance engine- but itā€™s pretty useless at Home Depot and itā€™s pretty hard to carry a...

R1T Bed Rack: Sierra Rack System

Looks great, does it mount to the factory crossbar points? How involved will it be to mount and remove from the truck? I currently have my RTT mounted to the crossbars and it's a very quick process to just unclip the whole thing and lift it right off the truck. I'd like to be able to do that...

It's a hybrid now... R1T charged at 5.2kw with portable generator and charging adapter

Iā€™m no electrical engineer, but itā€™s my understanding that you shouldnā€™t have a sustained load of greater than 80% of the breakerā€™s capacity. So I set the Rivianā€™s charging amps at 24 for the 30 A breaker on the generator. 220*24=5.28kW, or basically half of what youā€™d get from the Rivian wall...

It's a hybrid now... R1T charged at 5.2kw with portable generator and charging adapter

It's not as clean as adapters made specifically for the Rivian mobile charger, but I've purchased a variety of adapters for just this purpose: my generator to 14-50 adapter, a 6-50 to 14-50 and a 120v 30A adapter. They've all come in handy so far.

It's a hybrid now... R1T charged at 5.2kw with portable generator and charging adapter

The hybrid part was just a little tongue in cheek. Maybe I should have said it's now a dual fuel vehicle. Some of my friends who are less ready to take the step into EVs worry that if the grid is down for an extended time they won't be able to refuel. I was just illustrating that in a way it's...

It's a hybrid now... R1T charged at 5.2kw with portable generator and charging adapter

Ok, 1-2% then. I don't know or care if an EV is better for the environment- I need faster transportation than a horse and don't really care what the fuel source of my vehicle is. I'm not trying to stubbornly use an EV to the exclusion of all others because I'm dead set on electrification. EVs...
